Jon Bon Jovi, in town to cheer on the Philadelphia Soul during Sunday's Arena Football League championship, spent Friday night at Tipitina's. He and a radical of around 60 friends and job associates rented out the Tipitina's balcony for a private party. They rocked to local funk-jam band Kirk Joseph's Backyard Groove, the featured act for Friday's free show at Tipitina's.
Bon Jovi is a majority owner of the Philadelphia Soul. Other guests at Friday's party included former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Ron Jaworski, a minority owner of the squad. Bon Jovi was "very nice," reports a source at the venue. "They were partying, having playfulness. And they seemed to really like Kirk Joseph's band."
